65% Mourvedre, 20% Counoise, 10% Picpoul, 5% Grenache
Buena Suerte, Farmhouse, Lost Draw and Friesen Vineyards in Texas High Plains.
Grapes harvested early for lower sugar levels and higher natural acids. The Mourvedre was whole cluster pressed and all other varieties taken direct to press with minimal skin contact. An extended frementation was taken dry at cool temperatures to preserve delicate aromatics. The 2018 vintage was dry and showed in lower yields with very small berry size. The concentration of flavor and color are clear markers of this growing season.
Tasting notes: A juicy palate with red berry fruit and lightly savory herbal notes. Fresh and ripe with good concentration adds a versatility of pairing possibilities. Perfect for grilled seafood, spicy dishes, barbeque and other warm weather foods.
